Revlon or Chanel ?

I really really did not intend to write today but I'm not what you call a 'natural' to housework and anyway the feather duster does tickle so. My contribution to the duties of Femme de Foyer have been to open up the windows, thirty eight roughly, give or take a few, but then I always get confused after twenty and its not terribly important unless you are the window cleaner (moi) anyway. So that's six panes for each window, two double windows in each room...

Crept stealthily up into the gloom of the Ham Room this morning. Once my eyes accustomised themselves to the dark there was Maman twitching proudly on her nest of eggs. His Lordship has given me strict instructions that I must not visit more than once a day in case she takes fright and leaves. I said to him "Have any of our guests ever done that then" ? to which he was left floundering. Really and honestly, you either run a professional establishment or you don't.

So that's me today apart from sitting and dealing with enquiries and taking another booking. (excuse for a drink) It's now so hot the pool is positively sizzling at 75 degrees which is quite unheard of. All French public outdoor pools firmly closed until July 1st and promptly drained again on 1st September. Madness.

Which sort of leaves me pondering whether to paint my petit tootsies Revlon Red or in Chanel's black nail polish.

Oh I just don't do housework, the art is to be constantly renovating so people presume the muck is due to building work! Lovely blog sally and love the shoes on your earlier thingy!
