NEVER LOOK BACK

www.FrenchEntrée.com

Over a few glasses of splendid Cotes de Malpere I put together a small article on the renovation of Le Chateau which is found on the above link to French Entrée. Delving through what very few pictures I had of the 'before' I realised that this was not a time and place I wished to visit too often. I'm not sure what I was on at the time but I was certainly wearing rose tinted specs when I bought a house without His Lordship viewing it beforehand. I wasn't looking for another house and I didn't need the hassle but fate was looming overhead and dropped itself on me fairly and squarely !

Never look back ?

Oh Sally you make it look and sound so easy and effortless when it must have been an incredibly megalithic task to renovate on such a grand scale! But well worth every tear I can see !

Absolutely, well worth it! Having just-about-survived a much smaller renovation, I know that feeling of looking back and wondering 'what on earth was I thinking'?! Wonderful kitchen.

Been there, done that even be it on a much smaller scale.

You should be so pleased and proud of what you have done. I think, looking at those stunning pictures that it must have been worth every bit of that sweat and tears.

Stunning!

warm wishes

Goodness me I'm feeling better by the minute! I absolutely love a bit of house renovation porn and your Cinderalla transformation of le chateau is amazing. Very well done you, the results are stunning.

You give me hope! If you can renovate that blinking great chateau, I can manage one four-bedroom townhouse! Any hints on rising damp? Wood rot?
Your kitchen is FABULOUS! I am sold on the 4-oven Aga.....and am after similar cabinets too.

I've got photos like that, Sally. What is it about a French stone house (longere in our case)which makes it irresistible, to the point where the renovations seem SO simple!

I'm sure it must have been a nightmare, but with all the love you put into to it, it is now absolutely stunning. Well Done! Would you do it again though?

I'm stunned. What a lot of work! I'm sure you questionned your own sanity more than once, but what a beautiful place you've unearthed. Thanks for sharing the article with us.
