Wish you were here ...

Hello to you there, that's right YOU, the person who wrote to ask me to write another blog depicting the pure tranquility emanating from this magical little spot in the South of France. Oh alright, if it cheers you up here you go !

Lovely sky last night, a slight breeze was blowing the soft new fur on the little kitten playing skittishly with the stuffed toy mouse twirling in the doorway. I had whizzed to Carcassonne airport to pick up a friend who had decided on a last minute break, it must be nice to have me as a pal don't you think ? and by the time the sun was setting and the sky was turning a pleasing tinge of pink it was time for a glass of something refreshing. The 'London' friend had caught up with the gossip and we settled back admiring the long drawn out calm of the evening from our vantage point on the terrace. Spread before us was the panoramic view of the vines spread uniformly and disappearing into the distance. The hum of the harvesters could just be heard, their trails of dust following them as they laboured along far away. Interspersed between them the fields of sunflowers which I was thrilled to see were all out in their full glory on the entire drive back from the airport. The bruised purple outline of the Pyrenees merged rather nicely into the tinged skyline.

I'm just about to round everyone up for a hike through the open countryside which sits right on our doorstep. I'd better not linger if I'm to pick up a lovely fresh baguette which I intend to smear with slightly salted butter. Last nights left over roast pork, a green salad from leaves out of the garden and brightly red roasted peppers drizzled with olive oil should fill the gap nicely.

I always think that the person however that invents a pair of glasses that you could pop on and block out all the jobs that need attending to in the garden will be an overnight millionaire. I sometimes wonder if everyone else has a pair and they are somehow keeping the information from me !!

Ah, yes! That was wonderful, just what I needed on this horrible grey day. Gorgeous photo too.

Glorious - the only things I have in common at present are cold pork and green leaves from the garden.
Harvest is days off as the ground is too wet for the combines to even enter the fields.
Can I be your friend next!
Clouding up again now - a couple of hours of sun this morning - almost 68F - phew!! ha ha

was telling a relation about you this afternoon as we sat outside drinking our espressos, wearing wellington boots & fleeces! Not exactly pavement cafe attire but we pretended! Ah, such is life!

Cait, no I haven't read The Expected One but my friend who is here and knows everything there is to know about latest books says it is a Da Vinci Code 'wannabee'

Yes I thought she may be hoping to make as much as the Da Vinci Code though she says she has been researching it for 20 years, who knows?
Book question again sorry,
What is the title of the book on old Irish houses which you mention on Bodran's page?
