Vineyards in the Languedoc

I hereby solemnly declare that Sally's Chateau will remain a haven of tranquility for you my dear readers. There will be no talk of recession or the credit crunch on these pages. The air of gloom will not be allowed to creep into this spot, the invasion into all our lives of greed, corruption and ugliness by individuals who seek to destroy by any means that lie open to them for self gain, regardless of the consequences to others, shall be banished.

I am going to uplift you with photographs that depict a gentle carefree existence right here on my doorstep.

For starters we are surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see. Beautiful deep colours colliding together, juicy succulent sweet grapes that have been left behind by the harvester, easily plucked and enjoyed as we savour the warmth of the Autumn sun.

The guests are enjoying a tranquil moment around the pool, a small innocent child tentatively strokes the languishing cat and squeals with excitement as the lazy creature responds.

Half an hour ago I was walking up the gentle slope of this vineyard,(click onto the picture to enlarge and join me) I am now enjoying a glass of the local Vin Rouge.

If I could wave a magic wand I would have you all seated beside me on the terrace with faces upturned towards the gentle heat and we could admire the first sprinkling of snow on the Pyrenees slightly hazy on the horizon.

Tempting isn't it ?

Sadly Sally, there may be no talk of credit crunch down there, but it's certainly crunchy here.

Lampworkerbeader, alas there is talk of hardly anything else but I'm just trying to make this little spot a stress free zone by banishing the subject from it's pages so that people can rest awhile.

Thank you, Sally, for taking us to that lovely atmosphere. I did walk through that vineyard with you, the sun felt wonderful and that gentle breeze provided just the perfect accent.

Merci!

I'm there!

My dream has always been to own a vineyard and produce my own wine. Maybe one day....It's just so bloody civilised!

No gentle heat here, but no surprise either! Brrr...At least the sun shone today. Lovely.

Ah - relief from the global financial crisis hysteria. What a peaceful place your chateau must be.

One of my favorite memories is picking grapes at a chateau near Dijon when I was 10.
So lovely.

Thanks for the lovely photo of the autumn vines.I do miss them now we live in another part of France.
Just discovered your blog via cupcakes at home. Your home sounds lovely. As it is unseasonably very cold here in Oxfordshire I would dearly love to be sat drinking red wine looking at a French vineyard right now. Off to read the rest of your blog.

Hello Sally, I have just come across from visiting cupcakes in Scotland. As it turns out we are neighbors of a sort. I have a house in the Languedoc also, though I live in the Northwest of the US. You can visit La Liberte on my blog, a nice roomy village house but nothing as impressive as your Chateau.
I am still amazed by the connections made possible through a blog!

Crunch? What crunch? Am soothed and beguiled as always....hmm, glass of something, a slow meander around the pool - insomnia? what insomnia? Inspired, m'dear.
Hi Sally, this post is as smooth as the wine from your vineyard.
why would anyone think of the recession and other earthly crunches while being here.
This blog is peaceful and it is indeed a stress free zone.

Keep Blogging!
