All work and no play .....
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The sentiment expressed by this proverb was first recorded thousands of years ago by the Egyptian sage Ptahhoptep circa 2400BC. The business version of that being something along the lines of "All work and no play makes Jack" And plenty of it. I guess this is where the saying 'I'm alright Jack' originates from.
I am the master, if not mistress of distraction especially when it comes to work. Having just tucked another booking for next year under my belt it doesn't take long before my eye's alight on my favourite toy the absolutely amazing Panasonic DMC TZ3 and I'm focusing on an old postcard of Lasserre.
I could simply walk away from the computer right this instant and finish the jobs I started yesterday, last week, last year but I'm a firm believer in always leaving a little something for the next man to finish, in this case His Lordship.
If you peer very closely at this old black and white photograph of the village you will see Le Chateau with the circular heart of the village 'la ronde' in the background. This area is full of such historical villages and bastides perched on hilltops, many dating back to Medieval times, closely knitted together for security against marauding invaders.
Le Chateau in comparison is a rather late edition built in 1800 originally having hundreds of acres in vines. Built after the revolution the exterior is somewhat modest, it's beauty lying within with ornate floor tiles and wooden panelling running up the wide marble central staircase.
Being only the third family to inhabit it in over 200 years you feel rather responsible for its upkeep.
Which is why I guess I can't afford to linger .........

I have spent all day avoiding cleaning out my two fish tanks. Have now done one - but drowned my credit card machine in the process . . . sigh . .
The photo is a beauty, but you are the true beauty.

It is a good photo though.
