Monday's washing day,Tuesday's washing day, Wednesday's washing day........
And that should perhaps alert you to my riveting and utterly absorbing day today. The highlight, and there is always a highlight to a day isn't there ? and it's not necessarily pouring that first delicious glass of malpere wine, were the towels and sheets getting their knickers in a right old twist and wantonly and deliberately breaking free of the line which held them captive, 'three sheets to the wind' or rather more actually.
I'm exercising extreme discretion, and unheard of for me, keeping utterly 'Mum' in respect of the weekend activities. Picture this. A party of some 40 or more teenagers celebrating an 18th birthday, a group of middle aged professional guests, who makes the most noise and upsets the small rural village the most ? I know, difficult isn't it ? Call me 'Muggins' for short ended up traipsing round the neighbours the next day apologising profusely only I could hardly talk as I was so tired from lack of sleep.
My saving grace ? they weren't English !
That's why today is short but not necessarily sweet.

Mind you 40 18 yr olds probably make one hellva din.
Poor you and the washing, too wet to hang out here today, so tumble drier for me.
Warmest wishes
