It must be the hot sun ......
The sun is finally out after a rather prolonged absence and thoroughly warming up the bones I must say. Being typically British the windows and shutters are flung open for the heat to flood in. 2b being typically French follows behind firmly closing out the heat. There's rather a lot of shutters to Le Chateau so it keeps us on our toes. 'You've got to get used to living in the dark' he explains, 'I haven't come here to live like a hermit' I grumble and we continue to spin on our merry go round.
It's been a whirlwind of a week and Saturday morning has arrived and I feel rather dazed to say the least. One of the bedrooms has been completely transformed as I decided on a whim (is there any other way ?) to strip the floorboards and change the positioning of all the furniture completely. Viola ! absolutely gorgeous room with king size bed overlooking the garden. I awarded myself ten minutes in the pool which has now hit 80 degrees before I was called in by the 'oh so dulcet tones' of the family requiring my presence in the kitchen.
Cracking open a chilled bottle of Crémant de Limoux to celebrate another week gone by without too much trouble and strife I am alerted to the fact that a fellow blogger on purplecoo a band of breakaway bloggers from the Country Living website has plonked herself butt naked in our midst proudly wearing her purplecoo ribbon. His Lordship and 2b huddle round the computer no longer dismissing my blogging as completely boring. 'Don't wear your purple ribbon in Carcassonne', they look at me with worried expressions. 'I can't' I reply 'I haven't got round to sending off my one pound coin'
That's alright then' they say relief flooding through their voices, 'we thought for a moment you might try and pull a stunt like that'.
Anyone seen that tin of loose English change ?
The charming painting is this weeks 'find' at the Déchetterie and was a very apt illustration I thought to my little story.

'Grouse sounds like a bit of a dry wit' he commented.
'That would be me' I replied.

I love the idea of stripping the floor boards and re-arranging. It's a cold and rainy day here, and after the garage sale I might just follow your example.
