Fruit and not a sunflower in sight .....
Now consumed with guilt that I have been neglectful of late in the upkeep and maintenance of Sally'sChateau so a huge 'sorreeeeeeeeee' to all of those I know (or don't as the case may be) who peek in on a regular basis.
So many excuses I won't even attempt to start to explain, let's just say yours truly has been kept fully occupied. Mind you as you can see I've had time to slice up some fruit. Amazing what an ice breaker this can be in hospital when diced up and arranged, re-arranged and photographed at least fifty times. Blown up (the picture not the fruit) de-sized and generally jiggled and juggled. And then 'Bob's your Uncle' visiting time has flown by.
The latest guests came laden with trays of the most beautiful fresh fruit hot from Barcelona, see how seamlessly I can move on ? the largest juiciest most delectable melons you ever did see (can I say that these day's or has that been banned by bureaucracy gone mad ?) rows and rows of bright red plump tomatoes, proud, fat and purple onions packed in side by side, strawberries gleaming and glistening in punnets, golden kiwi fruit bristling together and the magnificent beasts with their spiky hairdo's the pineapple's. I was handed one of each and was soon staggering under the weight of such a treasure trove of goodies.
'Thank you' I said, well Gracias actually, 'but could I just ask what English produce you buy' ? which was a fair enough query as he was one of Barcelona's main importers/exporters of fruit and veg. There was a pause whilst he considered this.
'Well' he said 'what have you got apart from the Bramley Apple' ? !!
Don't get me onto the subject of the decline of the beautiful English orchards and fruit farms.
NB: All the fruit shown is from Le Chateau, you can take the girl out of the fruit farm but not the fruit farm out of the girl !!

I was annoyed with my sister today - the raspberries she had bought for lunch were from the USA!

Do hope the fruit did the trick - it's either that or sudoku....!!!!!
We've just planted a Cox Orange Pippen - in memory of an English friend of many years ago who longed for the taste of one!

Seriously, and along with everyone else, with your very busy life looking after everyone else I do hope you are finding a few moments here and there to recharge your batteries.
