News from the Languedoc
This week has been a real roller coaster, soaring to dizzying heights, plummeting to bewildering depths, catch your breath and you've been snatched by fate and being carried upwards once again, caught up in the madness of life.
Yesterday I was bombarded all at once with brilliant news, thwack right between the eye's. I was so bewildered I felt the need to pedal my bike furiously round the swimming pool in an effort to calm myself and then straight through the back door via the wide hallway and out of the front door. 'Why did you do that' His Lordship asked ? 'Because I can' I shrieked feeling gloriously pleased with myself.
Only one problem. I've been absolutely sworn to secrecy, can't tell a soul by all accounts, hush hush or else the opportunity will be lost to me and dissolve in front of my eye's. Honestly as soon as I can I'll spill the beans. Meanwhile Mum's the word.
Fabulous day today and we are up with the lark flinging windows wide open to embrace some Southern French air. Huge excitement here too in our little village. We have a new baker, tantalizing wafts of freshly baked croissants, crusty baguettes stacked on scrubbed pine shelves, fat meringues dotted with sliced almonds. Can't indulge too much though, got to look my best.
Oops.
