Last minute holiday France
August is passing by in a blur of parties, same as July and June if I'm utterly honest, probably stretching back to May even. Le Chateau is in full swing with a wonderful pianist this week bravely trying and pull out a noteworthy tune on the old piano.
I announced the other night that His Lordship and I would be going on a little last minute holiday together. This was after the Belgian TV crew had invaded us and I was forced to bite my lip lest I said something I might later regret. You have no idea how hard that was for me. But goodness, I digress. Oh you should have seen the two little pairs of eye's light up as they contemplated Mummy dearest out of the way. I could sense fingers twitching for the keys of MSN and the buttons of the mobile phones. 'I won't be going far' I gave a little titter.
Suddenly to the little darlings horror a caravan of a distinguished age drew up on the front drive and was parked very neatly just below the kitchen balcony. A caravan for two people only with a jolly striped awning to keep the sun off us as we sip a glass or two and plot our escape. I have great plans for it's refurbishment and decor, Le Petit Chateau, available for people of discerning taste who want to recapture the great outdoors and their free spirit without the discomfort of camping. I'm talking beautiful thick cotton sheets, lovely china, linen napkins, sleek cutlery and soft furnishing to drool over. Meanwhile the guests abandon Le Chateau as the sun moves over the yardarm to giggle and declare it all terribly good fun as we all swop stories gathered round 'Mummy's latest embarrassment'.
Meanwhile despite all the jollity I'm still at my station of work and I'm dollydaydreaming of a short break somewhere near the Mediterranean coast, a proper last minute holiday in France sans computer, phone and every other distraction.
Escape though as everyone knows is harder than it first appears.

This from someone who might just have a glimmer of what you do every single day, based on what I do day after day at the shop.

Thanks for your kind words on my post - I'm feeling quite down in the dumps at the moment so it was much appreciated.
After all your hard work, I'm sure you need it.
