Lockdown from Bridport - Part 3 - Day 48

Friends are important but more so than ever right now. You don't need a vast social circle, just a handful of trusted people you can rely on. Friends don't mind if you have nothing to say, they are just there to walk beside you. Companionable silence is better than chatter for the sake of noise merely filling an empty space.

I didn't feel like writing a blog today. I have done nothing of any interest, or at least I don't consider it merits writing about. 'The Undertaker' is affronted that the foray to his Mothers this morning and the purloining of lots of daffodils, snowdrops and narcissi is not newsworthy. He's even artfully filled up all the kitchen jugs with them but as it is now dark even these harbingers of spring are not terribly photogenic.

We start a little debate about the 'have's and the have nots'. We all know people like that don't we? It would appear that the circle of people abiding by the rules is diminishing rapidly in size. Even if Boris does announce that we can meet up with another family group outside from tomorrow I can't see it being greeted with cries of relief. As, broadly speaking, everyone appears to be living life by their own rules, not those set out by politicians and scientists. Peoples' mental health is teetering on the brink and quite possibly in rural areas such as ours, where infections remain low, the effects will long outlast any traces of covid.

I hope that tomorrow my usual joie de vivre will return, but for now I am going to admit to an off day, which, lets face it, happens even to the best of us these days...
