Not so lazy days in the Languedoc

Last night I sat and watched the beautiful huge orb of the full moon rising slowly and majestically from behind the far away hills. From a sliver of light it rose rapidly turning into a deep golden glow with a tinge of blood red. It hung magnificently in the still warm evening air whilst the surrounding countryside was enveloped by the night.

This morning saw me contemplating the morning and watching the moon yet again as it descended radiating a pure white glow into the Pyrenees. As the sunrise began so the mountains in the distance, still with a sprinkling of snow on top blushed with the first rays. Tonight no doubt I will watch the process yet again marvelling at the simple beauty of nature seated comfortably on my shabby chic wicker sofa on the terrace.

Today we have a scorcher and I am hard at work crouched over the computer, forging my way forward with new ideas listening to the idle crickets outside the window whilst The Small Cross One flops languidly in the pool, face covered by a battered straw hat whilst the sunbed slowly turns in the gentle current.

This week brings the news that a major television company has decided not to go ahead with the most riveting programme on the truly inspirational story of behind the scenes at Sally's Chateau. The idea was to present an uplifting programme amongst the doom and gloom and general dumbing down that seems to filter out at an alarming rate and entertain you all with a series that would have you cheering and whooping with delight at the antics and triumphs of the residents of Le Chateau tucked down in France profonde. As there were mutterings and rumblings of dissent in the ranks of having to participate in 'more bloomin' promotions masterminded by yours truly it was perhaps a good thing. Instead readers of a book to be published 'How to Write Your Lifestory' will be entertained as to how Sally's Chateau evolved. Slipped that in quietly didn't I ??

Most unlike me.

Ah, tell me about the TV programmes that never happened.....the hopes raised, the fond thought of turning oneself into a brand with all the vast oceans of dosh that would go with same profile. Trust me, no money in books (unless it's truly salacious - so, come to think of it, yours could be a real winner!!). jxxx

PS - the mere tip of the iceberg in my naughtiness, Sally - one day we will get sloshed and can swap wild stories.

heat wave you say? lovely moon to howl at, such a shame about TV, but there again it would have been an awful inconvenience to have to wear large garboesk sunnies and an all enveloping rain mac to remain incognito whilst shopping for the odd bottle of le fort............

Book.......much more your style than trashy TV, Darling...

Leather bound, naturally, as it will be a classic....

Oh dear, have I given the impression that there is a book entirely devoted to Sally's Chateau ? not that it would be anything other than a totally riveting read !! No it is a page in a book devoted to a blogger being published in the series 'how to' by ........ oh well that'll be in another blog, can't give it all away at once.

Sally, that moon is so beautiful and such a powerful image. I have never seen a full moon that I could take my eyes away from ... well, I did have to drift away after a few minutes, but you know what I mean, I am sure.

Whatever sort of opportunity comes your way will be so well deserved. I continue to be entranced by how you take us to your part of France.

All best wishes. xo

Bloody annoying as it would have been just my thing, not much on tele is. Will happily settle for the book though as prefer reading anyway. Been a tad concerned about how I will cope when Chateau sells but thankfully will have another little crutch to lean on, was mightly disturbed to finally get back on line and be faced with your sale and not a hope in hell of being able to buy it myself, never lucky with lottery tickets unfortunately.

Am profoundly envious of the hot weather you are having Sally. It rains with a dismal determination here, a dark look of never-endingness which is about to make me curl up under a quilt for the rest of the 'summer'...sigh xx
Berlimey Sally - you did indeed slip that one in quietly - you are ever the master of suspense . . .

Hah once the book is out the TV company will be gnawing their fingernails at letting the programme slip through their careless fingers.

Think you are probably well out of the TV Co experience, to tell you the truth. They would have doubtless taken over the place, been demanding and annoying and tried to portray you as something you weren't just to get the drama they were looking for.

Book, however does sound interesting...

There's nothing like a perfect full moon & glad you're having lovely weather - drizzly and 'orrible here.
